Weird succulent of the day

Jensenobotrya is a genus of succulent plant in the family Aizoaceae that is endemic to Namibia. Its natural habitat is rocky areas. It grows at Dolphin Head in Spencer Bay where it obtains moisture from the saline mists. It is threatened by habitat loss. Jensenobotrya lossowiana is the only species of genus Jensenobotrya.

Do you know that succulents do not just inhabit deserts?

Some succulents inhabit coastal areas. The damp mist condenses in the morning and supplies the plants with water. During the day the sun burns again. The succulents, especially the many species of cacti, only thrive here because of the daily moisture from the fog. Succulent plants need to save water and often make do with only the night fog or morning dew.
